Success is Second Nature to Bobbie Goldberg
When Bobbie Goldberg opened Second Nature Gifts and Goods on Main Street in Polson in November 2018, her goal was to purchase the building within two years. But two years later . . . well, it was 2020. The store was forced to close for a month at the end of March, so Bobbie was sure her goal was pushed down the road. She made good use of that month by having a website built, which enabled her to take her business online. Bobbie was pleasantly surprised that in-store business was brisk when she reopened at the end of April.
With her eye still on the goal of purchasing the building, Bobbie worked with our expert network to develop a business plan and apply for funding through the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) program. In spite of the cancelation of all the summer activities that usually draw people to downtown Polson, Second Nature enjoyed steady business through the summer, and had their biggest Shop Small Saturday ever.
With a lot of hard work by Bobbie and help from our expert network, she was right on track with her goal after all. “I’m thrilled to say I signed the papers to buy my building on November 11, 2020, two years after I opened,” said Bobbie. Our expert also guided her through the process of acquiring a TIF grant through the City of Polson. She’s nearly done with an extensive interior remodel, and will be remodeling the exterior as soon as weather permits. “I am so extremely grateful to have come this far, so grateful for all my loyal local customers, and we are looking forward to a fantastic 2021!”
