Montana Certified Regional Development Corporation Network (CRDC)

Mission West is a proud member of the Montana Certified Regional Development Corporation (CRDC) network. Montana’s eleven CRDCs cover the vastness of our state, providing reliable, professional economic and community development services to rural, urban and tribal communities and have a decades-long record of success in areas that include small business lending, infrastructure financing, business plan development, grant writing, value-added agriculture, opportunity zone investment and brownfields redevelopment, to name a few.

As CRDCs, we work with the private and public sectors to assure they have the resources they need to succeed and that no region of our state is left behind.  Through our professional expertise in the area of community and economic development, CRDCs understand the importance of leveraging scarce resources. Accordingly, we partner with government agencies and the private sector to achieve results that otherwise simply would not exist. The Montana CRDC Network is efficient, resilient, diverse and impactful.

The Mission West Region

As a State of Montana CRDC, we have formed a partnership with Lake, Mineral and Sanders counties. Our partners include, the Mineral County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC), the Sanders County Community Development Corporation (SCCDC) and the Sanders County Community Housing Organization (SCCHO).

Our work to enhance the communities of western Montana is done through sourcing capital and human resources to help the region’s business sector add jobs and expand the tax base, while also assuring a strong foundation built on solid community infrastructure and an extraordinary quality of life.

The Economic Development Administration

The support of the U.S. Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is vital to Western Montana.

The EDA works through districts to help lead the locally-based, regionally driven economic development planning process that leverages the involvement of the public, private and non-profit sectors to establish a strategic blueprint (i.e., an economic development roadmap) for regional collaboration. Districts are designed to represent multi-county areas. They serve and represent the entire geographic area of the region.

The U.S. Department Of Treasury- CDFI

Mission West is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) sponsored by the U.S. Department of Treasury.

As a CDFI we provide affordable financing and related services to low-income communities and populations that lack access to affordable credit, capital, and financial services

U.S. Department Of Agriculture- USDA

USDA offers loans, grants and loan guarantees to help create jobs and support economic development and essential services such as housing; health care; first responder services and equipment; and water, electric and communications infrastructure.

USDA promotes economic development by supporting loans to businesses through banks, credit unions and community-managed lending pools. We offer technical assistance and information to help agricultural producers and cooperatives get started and improve the effectiveness of their operations.
