Value-Added Producer Grant Working Group
The USDA Value-Added Producer Grant (VAPG) application opens February 1st and offers a worthwhile option to fund agriculture business growth in value-added enterprise. From product development to market expansion and processing, the VAPG is a conduit for agricultural producers to increase their revenue stream and we want to be sure you have every tool at your disposal to ensure the highest chance of success. Montana was the second highest funded state in the country last year and we want to keep the momentum going!
The VAPG is has a nuanced application process and this year the USDA is collaborating with the Food and Ag Development Center Network to host a series of virtual VAPG workshops to guide you through it.
The workshops specific to our area will take place on:
Monday, January 23rd, from 12 pm – 1:30 pm
&
Wednesday, January 25th, from 4:30 pm – 6 pm
[Use the links provided above to register for the class of your choice.]
To further assist you with the VAPG process, Mission West will be hosting an in-person VAPG Working Group in coordination with the VAPG Virtual Workshop on Monday, January 23rd, from 11am – 12pm and 1:30pm – 3pm in our small conference room in the Mission West building at 407 Main St. SW in Ronan. We will stream the VAPG Virtual Workshop from 12-1:30 in addition to the working group.
The VAPG Working Group will provide an opportunity for producers to meet and start a rapport with our area’s local USDA agent, Ed Culbert. Ed is not only your go-to-guy for USDA related dealings, but in this setting, Ed will be able to provide a more tailored grant counseling experience.
Mission West VAPG Monday Agenda: 11am to 12pm: Working Group with Ed Culbert
12pm to 1:30pm: VAPG Virtual Workshop viewing
1:30pm to 3pm: Working Group with Ed Culbert
If you are planning on attending the virtual workshop and the working group at Mission West, you still must register for the virtual workshop.
