Our education and workforce training session started with presentations on SKC’s health and nursing programs by Valerie Johnson, head of the Allied Health Department, and Lisa Harmon, chair of the Nursing Department.

In February we learned about the regions’s resources and challenges in the fields of healthcare and human services, with presentations at St Luke Community Healthcare, Providence St. Joseph Medical Center

Our January session included presentations on county housing, roads, elections, planning, and the county commissioners’ offices

For our December session on arts, culture and religion, we toured the People’s Center and the Wall of Remembrance, had panel discussions on art

This session included a tour of the Lake County Jail by Sheriff Don Bell, a presentation on the court system by Chief Deputy County Attorney James Lapotka

Marie Hirsch from LCCDC facilitated a session on Gracious Space, which aims to create a spirit and a setting for open and harmonious communication.

Our opening retreat was held at Quinn’s Hot Springs resort. Prior to the retreat, all participants had taken the Clifton Strengths Assessment to learn more about their strongest abilities and talents.
