Mission West CDP serves Lake, Sanders, and Mineral counties and the Flathead Indian Reservation in rural western Montana. Our work is rooted in the landscape, the communities, and the people of this place.
Rural Western Montana
Our service area spans a vast and diverse geography, from the agricultural valleys of Lake County to the timber communities of Sanders County, the mountain communities of Mineral County, and across the Flathead Indian Reservation. These are rural places with deep roots and real economic challenges.
Mission West CDP has been present in all of these communities for more than 25 years. Our staff knows the local economy because they live in it. Our programs are designed not for an abstract rural America, but for the specific conditions and opportunities of western Montana.
We're headquartered at 407 Main St SW in Ronan, in the heart of our service area and close to the communities and businesses we work with every day.
Counties &
Tribal Lands
Our work spans three counties and the Flathead Indian Reservation, serving communities across a region the size of several eastern states.
Lake County
Home to our Ronan headquarters and the heart of our service area. Lake County includes Polson, Ronan, St. Ignatius, and communities along the Flathead Lake corridor. The county's economy includes agriculture, tourism, retail, and small businesses of every kind.
Sanders County
From Thompson Falls to Plains and Hot Springs, Sanders County is a largely rural, resource-based economy with strong agricultural and timber roots. We serve businesses and cooperatives across the county through BDC lending, CDC development support, and CED planning services.
Mineral County
One of Montana's smaller counties, Mineral County includes Superior and Alberton along Interstate 90. Our work here focuses on business development, loan access, and connecting entrepreneurs to capital in a remote market.
Flathead Indian Reservation
The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes are the original stewards of this landscape, and the Flathead Indian Reservation is home to tribal members, businesses, farms, and cooperatives we've worked with for decades. Mission West CDP provides services on the reservation in partnership with tribal programs, respecting tribal sovereignty and working to support economic opportunity and community ownership in reservation communities.
Our Mission Mountain Food Enterprise Center is located in Ronan, within the boundaries of the Flathead Indian Reservation, and serves tribal and non-tribal food businesses across the region.
Regional Partners
Mission West CDP is one of eleven Certified Regional Development Corporations (CRDCs) serving Montana, and we partner with local development organizations across our region to deliver coordinated support.
Mineral County EDC
Mineral County Economic Development Corporation, partner organization supporting business development and economic growth in Mineral County.
Sanders County CHO
Sanders County Community Housing Organization, partner organization focused on housing access and affordability in Sanders County.
Statewide network: Mission West is part of Montana's CRDC network, eleven Certified Regional Development Corporations covering every corner of the state. Each CRDC delivers business assistance, lending, and economic development services to its region.
