About This Fund

Flexible Financing for Tourism

The Tourism Development and Enhancement Revolving Loan Fund provides flexible financing to tourism-related businesses across rural Montana. Capitalized through the Montana Department of Commerce, this fund supports the development and improvement of lodging, cultural attractions, tourism infrastructure, and food and beverage businesses that draw visitors to western Montana communities.

This program uses a public-private partnership model, state funds are matched with private investment to maximize impact. Mission West administers the fund locally, connecting tourism entrepreneurs with affordable capital and lending expertise.

Eligibility & Use of Funds

Who Qualifies

  • Tourism-related businesses in rural Montana
  • Lodging, cultural attractions, tourism infrastructure, events, food and beverage
  • Private investment must match at least 2:1 (two private dollars per one public dollar)
  • Located in Mission West service area

Use of Funds

  • Tourism infrastructure development and improvement
  • Lodging facility construction, renovation, or expansion
  • Attraction and visitor experience enhancement
  • Food and beverage business development supporting tourism
